This was my first attempt at scenic design. I had an added challenge of taking the set to the Texas Community College Speech and Theatre Association play festival, so I had to keep in mind that it be able to travel! I used inspiration from both modern office spaces and "great hall" type performing spaces to create a space that would facilitate the story of a girl who has a "lucid dream" experience of finding herself in the worlds of "Othello" and "Romeo and Juliet."
One of the unique pieces of this set are the ability to have the windowsills as playing space.
Another other unique thing we did was turn the bookshelf into a raked platform.
We also used the couch as a table-tomb.
